Lisa Tuzel from Havana, North Dakota

Lisa Tuzel was born and raised on a farm in North Dakota where her family instilled in her a lasting love of books and literature.  She graduated from the University of North Dakota with a double major in Spanish and English and then continued her education by completing a Master’s degree in English from Kansas State University.  She has been a military spouse for 17 years and has loved all of the adventures the lifestyle affords, even with the challenges that come along with it.  She held jobs as a college instructor, military transition counselor, sales associate, and librarian.  Lisa has been a regular volunteer at each base, and at local animal shelters, elementary schools, and libraries.  Lisa has never stopped discovering and reading new books and sharing them with friends and family, including her extended Air Force Family.  Lisa is a mom to two girls and two rescue dogs.  They have lived on 3 continents and in 7 states.  She has shared her love of educating and literacy with friends and family at each assignment.  She and her family are currently in Virginia where she is pursuing a Master’s of Library and Information Science online through the University of Iowa.
