Emily Swartzer from Auburn University, Alabama

Emily Swartzer is currently a senior at Auburn University pursuing a double-major in Architecture and Interior Architecture, where she is set to graduate in May 2025. During her time at Auburn, Emily has excelled in the classroom at home and abroad. Emily was competitively selected for two study abroad programs where she studied architecture in Scandinavia during her third year and in Japan during her fifth year. Additionally, Emily was the recipient of the Aydelott Travel Award for 2024, which allowed her the opportunity to research and document four unique buildings across Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, and France. Following graduation, Emily plans to pursue a career that focuses on the preservation, restoration, and adaptation of existing buildings as a method of practicing more sustainable architecture.
