She was accepted into the Early Admissions Veterinary Program at Kansas State University, giving her a guaranteed seat into veterinary school. Elayna has been a classical competitive Soprano 1 singer since the 6th grade and was selected to sing in the K-State choirs. She enjoys spending her spare time by being involved in her sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta, and the Veterinary Voyagers club at K-State. In High School, she was a varsity cheerleader and involved in: National Honor Society, Student Council, FFA, Mu Alpha Theta math club, secretary of Chemistry club, Vice President of Applause (a select fine arts performing group), A Capella Choir, Alpha & Junior Forum for debutantes, and AP classes. Elayna graduated 9th in her class, placing her within the top 2% of 375 students. Elayna has earned numerous awards for her classical multilingual singing including: perfect scores at the state competition all four years of high school, ranked 10th Soprano 1 in the state of Texas, and Outstanding Soloist (which only the top 3% of 50,000 students receive) at the state competition. These awards have all influenced her to want to become a Singing Veterinarian!
After graduating from veterinary school, she wants to specialize in Emergency & Critical Care Medicine as well as Shelter Medicine, followed by researching bioacoustics—the study of how music heals animals. Elayna would like to thank the brave men and women, and their families, who have sacrificed so much protecting our nation. As the daughter of a retired F-16 pilot, Elayna understands this sacrifice. She would like to specifically thank Luc and his family for their generosity and ultimate sacrifice. She hopes to live out Luc’s fervor with a vibrant spirit and bring honor to his name.
