Today, Luc “Gaza” Gruenther, had his memorial service at Aviano Air Base. There were over 1,000 guests in honor of Luc. Luc’s little brother, Chance, and Cassy’s younger sister Janelle both flew in yesterday and the rest of the family for the ceremony. Both Cassy and Romel (Luc’s mom) gave great speeches and challenged everyone to live more like Luc. The service ended with an F-16 fly over in the missing man formation. The Aviano AFB public affairs video taped the event for everyone that could not be there in person and should post them online either later tonight or tomorrow. I’ll also post it to this website as soon as we get it!
We the family want to thank every one that helped put this awesome event together for Luc. We know it took countless hours in a very short amount of time to coordinate, and it was very fitting for Luc and top notch. Thank you for all your help.
Luc will have a full military honors funeral at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO this spring after baby Serene is born and mom and baby can travel safely. There will also be a ceremony in our home town in Tuolumne County. Details will be posted at a future date once we have them.
